Numbers on Your Property
The City of Burt has an ordinance requiring that you have numbers on your property. Now that there is a county wide ambulance service, they are asking that this be enforced, so they can find an address with better ease. The ordinance states that numbesr must be in a conspicuous place to the street in figures not less than 4 inches in height and of a contrasting color with their background.

Welcome to Burt,
A Small Town With a Big Heart
Welcome to our online home
Established in 1881, Burt is the Little Town with the Big Heart and Helping Hand. Looking through the book “Covered Wagons to Jets” the history of Burt’s first hundred years, you will recognize a lot of family names that are still residing in town today. The book is a walk thru time. You can find this book and many others at our local public library, and if they don’t have what you are looking for they will get it, if possible. Here you can sit and read, visit or work on a puzzle while enjoying a cup of hot coffee. Our little library brings in great speakers, events and activities throughout the year.
Burt has several local businesses. Flying Dragon Air Rifles, Meyers Bike Shop, Reutzel’s Excavating and State Line Coop, to name a few (a complete listing is available on the Business tab).
From Santa Days to Burt Summer Celebration, Burt is the town to come home to.
